1. Who We AreAbout Vittarthi and this policy

Vittarthi("we," "us," or "our") operates the website vittarthi.com — a free online platform providing financial calculators, educational articles, and personal finance tools for Indian users.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website. It applies to all pages, calculators, blog articles, and other content accessible at vittarthi.com and its subdomains.

By using our website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with its terms, please discontinue use of the website.

This policy is governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) of India, and aligns with globally recognised privacy principles.

2. Information We CollectWhat data is gathered when you use our site

We collect information in the following categories. Importantly, none of the financial inputs you enter into our calculators are transmitted to our servers — all calculations happen locally in your browser.

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Contact form submissions: If you contact us via email or a contact form, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message — solely to respond to your enquiry.
  • Newsletter or update subscriptions: If you subscribe to updates (where offered), we collect your email address for that purpose only.
  • Account registration: If you create an optional account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Data type What it includes Why collected
Usage analytics Pages visited, time on page, calculator interactions, referring URL Understand which tools are most used; improve UX
Device information Browser type, OS, screen resolution, language preference Ensure compatibility across devices
IP address Approximate geographic location (city/country level only) Detect spam; understand geographic usage
Session data Session duration, navigation path within site Identify navigation issues; improve flow
Calculator inputs are never transmitted. When you enter a loan amount, salary, or investment figure into any Vittarthicalculator, that data exists only in your browser's memory and is deleted when you close or refresh the page. We never receive, store, or process your financial inputs.

2.3 What we do NOT collect

  • Financial account numbers, bank details, PAN, Aadhaar, or any government ID
  • Credit card or payment information (we do not charge for any service)
  • Precise real-time location data
  • Biometric data of any kind
  • Calculator inputs (loan amounts, salaries, investment figures)

3. How We Use Your InformationThe purpose behind each data type we hold

We use the limited information we collect exclusively for the following purposes:

  • Operating and improving the website: Analytics data helps us understand which calculators are used most, identify technical issues, and prioritise improvements.
  • Responding to enquiries: Contact information provided through forms is used only to respond to your specific message. We do not add you to any marketing list without explicit consent.
  • Security and fraud prevention: IP address data may be used to detect and block automated abuse, spam, or malicious traffic.
  • Compliance with law: We may retain or disclose information where required by Indian law, court order, or competent government authority.
  • Service communications: If you have an account or newsletter subscription, we may send you update emails directly related to that service.

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, sell your data to third parties, or share it with financial institutions, lenders, or insurance companies.

4. Cookies & AnalyticsHow we track usage and what you can control

We use cookies and similar browser-based storage technologies to operate and analyse the website. Cookies are small text files stored on your device. They do not give us access to your device or personal files.

Types of cookies we use:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Required for basic site functionality (e.g., session management, security tokens). These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics cookies: Used by our analytics provider (such as Google Analytics) to collect aggregated, anonymised data about site usage. These can be disabled via your browser settings or our cookie consent tool (where present).
  • Preference cookies: Remember your settings such as dark/light mode or calculator defaults. These are deleted when you clear your browser storage.

Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic. Google Analytics anonymises IP addresses before storing them and does not identify individual users. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings at any time. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use any Vittarthicalculator or read any article.
